  I attended K-2ndt grade there in 1948-50. We had three ways to get to school from up on the hill; the highway, the railroad tracks or "the peanut trail". The last one was the best. From the peanut trail we could use the bridge (yeh, right), the log or the rope to get across the creek to get to the school yard. We walked to and from school - wore one snowsuit over our clothes in mid-winter. The boys in the 6-8 grades were responsible to get the wood in for the fire boxes to heat both rooms. Our teacher in K-5 was Miss Bell. I remember that because she had one of those "hit" bells to ring us in for class. Got the mail and an ice cream at the store at the bottom of the hill. There were a couple of picnic benches across the way from the store where we could eat. It was a great time to be a kid. Kids could go anywhere by themselves. We collected berries for pies and made "flexies" to run the road on made of a wide board and skate wheels. Our house belonged to the Leutholds.

  I went here from Kindergarten until 7th grade. Love this place! Imagine sending your kid to a public school that has a redwood forest as a play-field. I cherish the times I had at this school and look forward to sending my daughters here when they are old enough.
